Radiate Festival Events & Festivals

The Radiate Festival Project Series is an exciting collection of events & activities produced to celebrate the rich vibrant variety of culture that the Black Communities in the UK have to offer.

Events in this project's collection will intentionally be curated to cater to the needs and interests of the various Black Communities within the UK. There will be a range of content presented from the Black British, British-Caribbean, Caribbean, African & Creole cultural perspectives.

Radiate Festival is a gathering of villages

Our Mission

Simply put...
We are actively working to normalise Black Culture & change the marginalisation towards the UK's Black community. Negative bias & narratives are so often associated with the cultural expression of those from the Caribbean, African & Creole speaking countries.

As a grassroots organisation we support our communities by providing & encouraging the development of social spaces which actually reflect black presence as a normal, healthy & integral part of British culture, history & formative part of our future.

Coming together in discussion, we realised that we had all reached a point where we were just a little, (or we should say a lot) fed up of the outward & free-flowing expression of our Black communities being taken, suppressed, sanitised & curtailed. This act of control & consistently co-opting culture is so systematically rooted in fear, desire to monopolise space & ultimately an unnessary need to restrict access to our outdoor spaces all for a homogenized output of an 'idea' of acceptable culture.

WHO WE ARE

Our Events Team are a group of good humoured, strong willed friends who joined a movment to do more for the representation of Black Culture & its Communities within the UK. We laugh and share life as a community of people invested in seeing greater progress.
